sir IanR, i agree. Europe is indeed a football continent. I enjoyed watching football games sa TV and ang mga fans ay talagang mga addict sa football. Its fun to watch football games eventhough others find it boring kasi kunti lang daw yung score and sometimes 0-0 pa, hehehe. But if you love playing football, parang whole game gusto mong panoorin lalo na kung champioship ng UEFA champions league :lol:

Soccer sa putikan! The best sport pag tagulan kasi slow-motion lahat tapos masarap mag-slide. :D Unfortunately pinatigil ako ni ermats kasi malakas sa medyas. Ayun, naging basketball tuloy. Last played in '82 officially pero still kicks some balls til '85. Sa middle east passion din ang soccer. I was there when Saudi won the Asian championship and it was really a big thing for them. During the game parang sala, walang tao sa kalsada - parang laban ni Pacquiao! Sayang yung coke go-for-goal era, madaming na-hone na talents dun. Kung ide-develop lang ang soccer sa atin, hindi malayong maging champion din tayo dun, kesa ipilit ang fancy basketball.

Wow! May mga football players pala tayo rin dito. I played varsity from grade 2 in Xavier to college in UP. I played a few leagues a few years ago with guys in Ateneo and La Salle that I used to play against. Now when I play with my kids, and I try to kick the ball hard...aray! But I still have plans to go back and see my friends who usually plays Sunday afternoons. Futsal maybe something I might be interested also. The camarederie in football is the best kaya sikat siya everywhere except here. Sayang the development of this sport was put on hold especially after Chris Monfort died in a motorcyle accident a few years ago. Ngayon medyo bumabalik ng kaunti, I hope it picks up.

Yup, in fact naka pag laro ako dyan sa Xavier fun game lang bumili ako ng studs sa Gaisano P350 lang ata yun ha ha tapos iniwan ko na dyan yun di ko maalala kung ano tatak nun basta cheap shoes lang just for the sake maka laro lang.

Gosh, I used to love the game and still watch the World Cup telecasts with a passion. Used to play since elementary at the Ateneo. Now that's ancient history. Trained under the late great Chris Monfort. Sa UP Los Banos naman, I joined one of the teams that vied for the annual Chancellor's Cup.

Unfortunately, upon graduation, wala nang makasama to kick the pigskin around. Wala na rin football field na malapit na pwedeng tambayan. Pero ganoon pa rin yung kain. Iyan, I swear I must have put on 50 pounds since graduation. Sabay lumakas pa ang pag-yosi. I swear I would't last ten minutes of scrimmage with you guys now.

Just to give you guys how long ago this was, top of the line shoes noong college ako was Adidas Azteca. Naabutan ko pa yung may Adidas Uwe ako ( 6 studs, dudes...hehehe ) noon. Sikat pa ako noong elementary, when my pop got me American football shoes ( Puma Joe Namath ) which was predominantly white instead of the customary black.

Masipag na fullback since elementary. Used to be great at ball handling and can still amaze my friends with juggling, with the ball not touching the ground hanggang di ako napapagod....

Those were the days....^_^

hahaha thank you sa offer but my hands are tied... advise ko lang sa iyo... know your team mates well.... what are their strenghts and weekness, how they play, how they move on the field, your keeper should be your team eye in the field kasi siya ang nakakakita ng buong playing field, practice, have fun, talk about your plays your moves when you are off the field(BEERDAY), basic skills(passing,dribling, move without the ball) is a must maski wala ka experience sa field, spend time mastering your basic skills, at pinaka sa lahat MAGYOSI, DRINK BEER.... joke:D if you do just make sure you work twice as hard sa takbo.
