If you're planning to keep that substrate, you're better off keeping kribensis. The apistos do not like hard water. You substrate will tend to harden the water.

gusto ko nga yun kaso hirap mag maintain ng planted. kaya drift wood lang plano ko lagay or some rocks na lang kaya tapos palit din ako ng substrate na pino? :D

Your plant is Echinodorus cordifolia which most likely will grow bigger than your 20-gallon tank.

Your substrate as what Uno and Jeto said will make your water hard and alkaline... kabaliktaran ng needs ng kribs... mahihirapan ang kribs in 2 weeks malamang patay kribs mo. Thats if your Green Terror does not kill them tonight. Your 3 inch GT can potentially grow to 12 inches. By no means it is a dwarf cichlid, it is highly aggressive and territorial.

You posted at 5:58 pm yesterday asking how to set up... 6:12 yesterday Uno warned you against using that substrate...By 4:45 pm today barely 24-hours from your post...Nakapag set-up ka na and you did not bother about very important suggestions from Uno and Jeto...especially on the substrate...

5:00 you texted me about Double Red Agassizi. Pare, I will be hoonest and truthful to you kung hindi ka magpapalit ng substrate at mag 100% water change.... hindi kita bebentahan ng Double Red Agassizi. Pls don't take this in bad light... I am saving you a lot money, hours of waiting in traffic, gasoline money and lives of a couple beautiful fish. Sayang....

May I suggest, palitan mo ng black fine sand ang substrate mo, put some of driftwood, replace the water (ilagay mo muna sa iba yung kribs and GT)... This will make your water acidic which is the preferred water quality ng mga dwarf cichlids. After Christmas ka na pumunta sa akin. Kung gusto mo ipag tabi pa kita ng pinakamagandang pair mula sa Double Red Agassizi after all you were one of the first to ask about it.

You may want to add Blue Rams, Cardinal Tetras, corydoras.... perfect

BTW Dwarf Cichlids areb one of the more challenging cichlids to keep bec very sensitive sila sa water quality... but once makuha mo the rewards are very satisfying....

I understand your point sir angel. biglaan lang din kasi bili ko ng kribs. 3pcs na lang kasi kaya binili ko na lahat sa bio. nagmadali kasi ako. hehehe. bukas babaguhin ko na yung set up. :D

Is this ok? nag 100% WC ako and palit ng substrate. may stock pala ako ng pebbles na maliliit, tri color nga lang.:(
